Dude that just put in an application to my guild

His gear is good, but man he put no effort in filling it out. Bad grammar and spelling. And dude is 35 years old. Here is a sample what he wrote.

How much do you play each week?:
depends on alot of things goin on my life at the time

Anything else you’d add about raid attendance::
no not that i can think of

What are your reasons for wanting to join Prime?:
Lookin for a good solid progression raiding team

I have so many questions. LOL! Usually I reject people that are too lazy to thoroughly fill out the application. But, I think I will grant this dude an interview and see if I get real answers there.

I might have to reroll Warlock in Mists of Panderia

So I have not been excited at all about MoP. At this point WoW is just going through the motions for me. I’m just playing because I am paying for it for year with the Annual Pass. But, I caught a stream of MoP beta that Lore from Tankspot was doing last night on twitch.tv. Warlock tanking thanks to a new glyph they can equip. Gives them a taunt and damage mitigation.

If Blizzard keeps Warlock tanking viable then I will have total new found interest in this game. Seriously check out MoP Warlock tanking it looks fun as hell. But knowing Blizzard when something is too fun they take it out.

Hardmodes next week! Good fight overall, but a little too long and intense DPS requirements. My freakin wrist hurts from doing my DPS rotation.

Wiping with Rag

slashwho:

Night two of HM Ragnaros. We are capable of downing 6/7 HM in one three hour night now, so we’ve been working on that the following night. The prospect of wiping on the same boss for six hours a week was a little daunting, so we’ve dropped down to two raid nights.

I’m honestly having a hard time seeing the point though. There are guilds who’ve had 6/7 HM for a lot longer than us, and are still working on him. The patch is coming in soon, and I feel like maybe we should just take a but of a break on this content before it hits.

Our best attempt has been around 53%, and that was three healing. We end up losing it somewhere around the seed phase. When we were two healing it, we’d weren’t even making it that far on some attempts. Our bear tank gets hit like a truck, I don’t think there’s much we can do about that. My plan was to three heal it until we started getting to the last phase, and possibly dropping down to two healers if we didn’t have enough DPS (Everyone pulls 23-26k usually). The drawback is getting used to having that extra healer, I guess as a “crutch”. And then there’s the chance that the patch will hit in a couple of weeks and no one will want to do this anyways, kinda making it wasted time. Maybe if we were getting closer to a kill, but its not even in sight at this point.

A ton of guilds are in the same boat. Only some 2% of guild have downed HM Rag.

However, realistically speaking, 6/7 HM is completed Firelands for most. If you are 6/7 HM Firelands you are still better than the majority of guilds out there; about 75% of the guilds.

Also, even the most hardcore guilds took weeks to months to down him, both pre-nerf and post-nerf. So that is a gear difference too. The guilds that have downed Rag had every attendee decked out in all available heroic gear because they had been farming everything else for months. If you have only a couple kills on the later hardmodes in Firelands, your total roster is just not going to have the gear advantage.

My guild is in a similar situation. But, we knew this fight was not going to be a cake walk compared to 6/7 HM. So we take it easy. We pace ourselves via milestones we set each week. When we hit the milestone we are done for our heroic Rag attempts for the week. I think spending 3+ hours a week on this guy is pushing it, unless you are close to a kill.

Heroic Rag is an incremental fight. You do it in stages, as if each stage is its own boss encounter. Take it easy I say. New content is coming out soon where you can use your Heoric Firelands gear advantage do a  lot better in 4.3.

baleroc down

We just killed him too. But I feel we still don’t have the tank situation/strat down. Cause we just let a tank die then Battle rez them. Does not seem right.

mynameisntjonas replied to your post: I need a stiff drink after this raid.
As the GM of my guild, I need a stiff drink every time I log on lol

Dude it’s so terrible. It’s makes me afraid how performance will be for Firelands next week.

We were doing so well a month ago. Then half our roster burned out or made excuses to quit. So we are running with a ton of recruits that are not worth a damn. Same shit every summer though in this game, so why I am surprised? Good people quit, and we get third string summer raiders until Fall rolls around.

So much fail tonight

New recruits in my guild are terrible

Pretty much our progress has come to halt on tier 11. Not looking good for Firelands at this rate. Wiping to Heroic Atremedes right now. Yeah seriously, WIPING ON FREAKIN HERIOC ATREMEDES.

Doing a 25 man raid while encoding HD videos and surfing the net

And getting 60 FPS on WoW. This with using 99% CPU utilization over 8 threads (because I am encoding). Hahahaha. I love having an awesome PC.

Crazy Nerfs to Tier 11 Content in 4.2

Since I will be doing Firelands I could care less but the actually nerfs. However, this dumbing down of previous tier content is really going to make recruiting quality players difficult, much like how Wraith was. There are lot of people that can’t complete the content when it is relevant and wait to get the welfare badge gear, and steamroll the nerfed previous tier. Then all of a sudden they think there are ready to step into relevant raiding because they got some purples. Yeah some of these players might be decent, but it hardly ever works out for long.

Most of the time these types of recruits end up having poor attendance, spotty performance, or eventually stop raiding. Think about it. If one was really interested in raiding challenging content, why would he/she wait until a tier is nerfed to start getting gear?

In other news, last week for my guild was a total bust. We killed every single hardmode we have killed in one day. So the rest of the week was wide open for some serious hardcore progress. However, to much disappointment, people did not show up. So yeah heads are going to be rolled and cracked this week. Not much time left. I would like we at least get Cho’gal and Nef hardmodes down before patch 4.2. Getting everyone four piece heroic sets would be very advantageous in Firelands.
